Jennifer Lopez brings diva wattage as Dolce & Gabbana refreshes its Sicilian inheritance

MILAN (NB360) — Jennifer Lopez added star power to Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring Summer 2027 runway show on Saturday, sitting in the front row in a dark velvet suit paired with a matching cap and equestrian boots, while fans outside eagerly tried to catch a glimpse of her.
The collection embraced the house’s Sicilian heritage as something to be refreshed rather than discarded: a legacy passed from grandmother to granddaughter, featuring nubby tweed suits enhanced with leopard trim and skirts, youthful bloomers and bra tops crafted from checked tablecloth prints paired with sheer stockings, and lace slips adorned with fringe and beads.
Crocheted doilies, which can easily be found in Italian markets if not inherited, were transformed into modest skirts and dresses.
Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana appealed to a younger audience with this generational exchange, blending glammed-up denim with gardening boots, while maintaining their iconic black dresses, lingerie styles, and animal prints.

Outside the showroom, fans waved signs for K-pop star Choi San and Japanese actor Hikaru Iwamoto. But it was “J-Lo” that they chanted in anticipation as guests streamed out of the runway show.
Lopez, who has a decades-old relationship with the fashion house, joined the designers at Vogue World earlier this week wearing a Dolce & Gabbana strapless black tulle gown with sequin detailing.

At the runway show, the singer and actress observed the models closely, with one glamorous piece catching her attention as fit for a diva: a flowing animal print hooded cape featuring gold details, trimmed with faux fur, and paired with loose-fitting jeans.
