MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis woman who was forcibly removed from her vehicle by masked federal agents during a traffic stop Tuesday says she believes she narrowly survived the encounter.

Aliya Rahman, who was on her way to an appointment at a Traumatic Brain Injury Center, says agents pulled her from her car and restrained her despite her repeatedly informing them that she is disabled. Video of the incident, which has since circulated widely on social media, shows Rahman being removed from the vehicle and placed in custody.

According to Rahman, she requested medical assistance while detained but was instead transported to a federal detention center. She says she later lost consciousness and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

“I feel lucky to be alive,” Rahman said, describing the experience as traumatic and frightening.

The incident has intensified public scrutiny over federal enforcement tactics in Minneapolis, particularly amid heightened tensions surrounding immigration enforcement and civil liberties.
