Authorities confirmed that Ronquillo found her lifeless, informed his father, and together they took her to Quezon City General Hospital, where her death was confirmed.

The case was assigned to the Quezon City District Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit. A preliminary medical report showed mild external injuries, fluid in the lungs, and heart congestion. According to police, these findings are insufficient to determine the cause of death, pending toxicological and histopathological results. Medications and other substances found at the scene are under examination.

On November 19, Ronquillo was discovered dead at his residence. Initial police reports suggest a suspected suicide by hanging. Relatives found his body and alerted emergency services. The family claimed he had been receiving negative messages and pressure on social media since Gina's death. In a statement to GMA, his father said: "It's too late, I could only hug you when you were already dead. I regret not letting you feel that hug."

Authorities have emphasized that Ronquillo was not considered a suspect in Lima's death. Both cases remain open as forensic analysis and investigations proceed.
